At Peden & Reid we recognise the need to build lasting personal relationships with our clients and their families in order to provide both sympathetic and practical advice. We provide a dedicated and comprehensive personal service to all of our clients, a large number of whom have remained with the firm for many years. This is reflected by the large number of referrals from existing clients.
Making a will is very important. By making a will you decide exactly who will receive your assets and to what extent. A will can help avoid unnecessary arguments that can arise within families where a person’s wishes are unclear. If a person dies without making a will the law will dictate how his or her Estate is distributed – this process is often more stressful, time consuming and expensive. It can often result in a division of assets which the deceased did not intend.
As people reach retirement age and beyond they are often inundated with thoughts and ideas from well-meaning friends and family members. They are frequently pursued by salesmen and bombarded with letters and phone calls. All of this can become confusing, worrying and distressing. Older clients in particular need to be treated with patience and understanding, and often require time to reach the right decisions for them. We strive to provide all our clients with the best possible advice tailored to their individual circumstances.
We have established strong links with other professionals, including accountants specialist financial advisors and barristers, to assist us in providing the most efficient and effective solutions for our clients. We are also more than happy to work alongside our clients own trusted accountants and advisers where longstanding relationships already exist.
