Senior Partner Niall Browne attends Association of European Lawyers’ AGM in Gibraltar

Our Senior Partner, Niall Browne, recently attended the Association of European Lawyers’ Annual General Meeting in Gibraltar.

The Association of European Lawyers consists of almost forty member firms, all well known in their respective countries, and allows members to offer legal services through referral in every European commercial and industrial centre.  Its members all have extensive knowledge of their local jurisdictions, keeping constantly up to date through frequent networking, collaboration and information exchanges with other member legal practices.  Members often collaborate on multi-jurisdictional matters for mutual clients.

This year’s AGM was held aboard the Sunborn SuperYacht Hotel and was hosted by Triay & Triay one of the leading law firms in Gibraltar.  The keynote speaker was Ray Hammond, Europe’s most experienced futurologist, who for 35 years has been studying the major trends that will shape the future.

Topics covered included climate change, population growth and resources, the energy crisis, globalisation, life sciences and accelerating technology, and consideration was given as to how best member firms could prepare for the impact of what will clearly be significant developments in each of these areas.

The event proved most successful and was an excellent opportunity to meet and network with our colleagues in other European jurisdictions in an informal setting.
